General comments
Indicatie
- cCMV infectie met betrokkenheid centraal zenuwstelsel (abnormaal neurologisch of oogheelkundig onderzoek, microcefalie of afwijkingen op beeldvorming consistent met cCMV)
- cCMV infectie met vitaal bedreigende symptomen of ernstige betrokkenheid van één orgaan
Timing
De behandeling bij voorkeur starten in de eerste levensmaand, maar in ieder geval voor de leeftijd van drie maanden.
Duur
De duur van de behandeling is minimaal 6 weken.
Neonaten met aanwijzingen voor CZS-ziekte worden bij voorkeur 6 maanden behandeld.
Voor overige indicaties bestaat geen volledige consensus over het behandelen van 6 weken dan wel 6 maanden. Dit moet in individuele gevallen in samenspraak met ouders besloten worden, met aandacht voor veronderstelde voordelen en bekende en onebkende bijwerkingen op korte en lange termijn.
