General comments
Consulteer bij een verdenking op candidemie de kinderinfectioloog en/of de microbioloog.
In patiënten met candidemie, dienen alle intravasculaire catheters (centraal, perifeer en arterieel) verwijderd te worden.
Antifungale therapie aanpassen aan determinatie van Candida spp. en gevoeligheid, i.o.m. consulent kinderinfectieziekten.
In sommige gevallen kan per oraal uitbehandeld worden.
Een positieve bloedkweek dient aanleiding te zijn voor verder disseminatieonderzoek.
Een positieve urinekweek is kan een reden zijn voor echografisch onderzoek van de nieren en niet voor een volledig disseminatieonderzoek.
